John J. Ratey, M.D., is Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and has a private practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has lectured and published many articles on the topic of treating ADD adults and teaches frequently about the impact of neuroscience on clinical issues. Dr. Ratey has published more than 50 scientific articles dealing with aggression, ADHD, and addictions. He is the author of A User’s Guide to the Brain(2002), and he has also co-authored several books: Delivered from Distraction(2005), Answers to Distraction(1995), and Driven to Distraction(1994) with Edward Hallowell, M.D. He also co-authored Shadow Syndromes( 1997) Catherine Johnson, Ph.D.Dr. Ratey’s new book, Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain (2008) is about the psychiatric effects of exercise.
